When it comes to maintaining your car it is important that you regularly check wear and tear items such as your car battery. The cold winters can be especially hard on your car’s battery so make sure you have it checked out if you haven’t recently. We do battery checks and most of the retail auto parts stores do too.

If it is determined that you do need a car battery there are plenty of options. Some of the most popular car batteries are NAPA, AC Delco, Ever Start, Optima, Autocraft, Diehard, and Kirkland Signature.

Customer Bill of Rights

Here at Custom Car Care we believe that buying a new vehicle should be an exciting time for you! You should look forward to buying a new vehicle. It should not be something that you dread.

To ensure that all of our customers have a car buying experience that goes above and beyond their expectations we have implemented these bill of rights.

1. Each Customer has the Right to be treated like Family.
Since we are located in a small town and locally owned and operated (since the beginning) it is natural for the atmosphere here to be family oriented. We strive to treat each and every one of our customers exactly how we would want to be treated; like family.

2. Each Customer has the Right to be heard
Every one has at least one concern throughout the car buying process. No matter how small the concern may be it is important to us that it is taken care of.

3. Each Customer has the Right to be free of Needless Haggling
No one wants to have to haggle to get exceptional value. No one should have to either. We do not ask for unreasonable prices. We strive to be up front with you and work as quickly as possible to reach an agreeable solution.

4. Each Customer has the Right to Full Disclosure
We do not attempt to hide anything from you. We will provide you with clear and accurate information regarding your purchase and the financial agreement.

5. Each Customer has the right to receive Exceptional Value
Our motto is “Wholesale Pricing Everyday”. We don’t have tent sales or price blowouts for one weekend. We do have wholesale prices 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. A dollar spent at Custom Car Care goes further than a dollar spent at any other dealer.

6. Each Customer has the right to No Pressure
Financially speaking buying a new vehicle is one of the biggest decisions you make in your life. It should not be taken lightly. We do not try to bully customers around and make them buy on the spot. We recognize how big of a decision you are making and want you to be completely comfortable with it.

Born to Teach, Save Lives, and…..Sell?!?

I would like to introduce you to Dave Furey of Ossian Indiana. Dave has been working here part time since November of 2009 as a sales consultant.

Dave wasn’t always selling cars though. For 29 years he served as a business teacher at Norwell High School in Ossian Indiana. After retiring from teaching he served as the transportation director for 7 years. Over the years Dave also served as a volunteer Firefighter for 28 years and held the positions of assistant chief for 6 years and chief for 8 years.

Retirement gives him too much free time though. So he started working for an independent truck dealer and then moved on here to Custom Car Care.

Dave said his favorite part about working at Custom Car Care is “The friendly staff and management – always trying to meet the needs of the customer. Flexibility of scheduling is appreciated by the sales staff too!”

Working part time allows Dave enough free time to enjoy life and his favorite thing to do is spend time with his family. He has a daughter who lives in Las Vegas so he and his wife take frequent trips to visit out there!

Winter Driving Tips

Winter is here and snow has already made its way to us. The winter months are the most likely months to be involved in an accident. Here are some tips when driving in the winter.

-         Slow Down. There is no speed amount that is safe when driving on snow or ice. You must get a feel for what road conditions to know how fast you can go.
-         Stay back from the vehicle in front of you. Many rear end accidents happen each year because drivers don’t allow for adequate stopping distance. Allow yourself enough time to stop. (8-10 seconds)
-         Accelerate and decelerate slowly. This will prevent you from losing traction.

It’s also a good idea to have your vehicle checked out by a reputable mechanic. The battery, brakes, and tires should be checked out. It might be a good time to have these items replaced. A lot of people put actual snow tires on their vehicle to help with traction.

Drive safe now!

Do It All...The Life Of Our General Manager

Do It All

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be the general manager of a car dealership? It’s a very stressful job. General Manager is a short title for jack of all trades at a dealership. As the general manager you are human resources, sales, finance, technology, administration, wholesale, retail, service, and clean up. I think that covers it all!

Who is that man at Custom Car Care? Meet Brian Martin. He has been the general manager here for over 5 years. Obviously he enjoys his job or he wouldn’t have been here for so long.

What is it that Brian loves most about his job? “The competition. It’s a very competitive industry. I love it when we help people purchase a car. I truly believe we have some of the best prices you will find anywhere. Our motto of wholesale prices everyday is something we live and die by” says Brian.

Being the general manager doesn’t allow Brian for much free time. So what does he do when he does have any? Relax you might think…not a chance! He plays in a local oldies band called “Alley Kats”. They perform in a variety of places in and around Fort Wayne.

The Alley Kats don’t perform every weekend. For those weekends Brian races at Bearfield Speedway in Fort Wayne. Brian actually finished in the top ten this year! Brian has been involved with racing nearly all his life. He operates www.gokartbooks.com which was inspired by his father. The site offers books, written by his father, and other tips on racing go karts. It is definitely worth checking out! J

That’s our general manager.
